FAQ

  • How long does a typical shoot take?

This depends on what we are trying to accomplish. Typically, the longest shoot, where we create a small, but complete portfolio, takes about five hours including breaks. A shorter shoot can take anywhere between three and five hours. This is because of the philosophy that I have toward portraiture. It is impossible for me to capture that many emotions that make you who you are without spending a bit of time connecting. And that doesn’t go well with strict time limits.

  • What does a typical studio shoot look like?

Typically, the sets are all ready for you when you arrive. The lighting still has to be worked out, but that will happen once we start shooting. Forms are signed at the start, and we slowly work our way into shooting. We’ll spend a few hours working the sets, the lighting, and your looks, and once we’re done we’ll scan through the photos together to make sure we’ve accomplished what we set out to. Once we’re satisfied, the shoot is done. within a day or two, you will receive a large gallery from which you will pick the images you’d like me to edit. Once the images have been paid for, I can edit them and deliver them as high resolution jpegs.

  • What should I bring to a photo shoot?

The specifics depend on the purpose of your images, but generally, to create meaningful portraits and headshots, I suggest you bring most of your closet. It’s difficult to have too many options, but it’s easy to feel overly limited buy having too few options. A good rule of thumb is to bring as much clothing as you can. That includes all of your standard articles and perhaps a couple pairs of shoes. Props and other interesting accessories are always a great addition. Further specifics will be discussed in your free consultation.
