I was privileged enough to be able to leave the field of science and math about a year ago to pursue my creativity. I try to carry gratitude into every shoot because I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the grace of those who sit for me. My philosophy for portrait photography is based in one of my core beliefs in life. That is, I believe that practicing empathy will almost always improve the outcome of any given situation. Applying that idea to photography, I believe that I will capture the best parts of someone if I try to empathize with whatever they’re feeling in the moment.
